Warriors Gaming Squad Opens Regular Season 2-0

Warriors Gaming Squad swept past Bucks Gaming in consecutive games to open the regular season 2-0, the third consecutive year that WGS has started the season with a winning record.

An eventful home opener saw Warriors Gaming Squad take home a 79-68 victory by way of forfeit. After pushing the game into overtime, Bucks Gaming players quit out of the match, resulting in a ten-point forfeit win for WGS. An extra point was subsequently added for the use of an added timeout by Bucks Gaming after the game was reset midway through the second quarter.

The second game was much more straightforward. Warriors Gaming Squad won the first quarter 28-9 and cruised to a comfortable 91-61 win. CB13 averaged 25 points and 12.5 assists per game, while Gradient averaged 20.5 points per game while shooting 72.7% from the field. First-round picks Hezi, Antoine, and KayAus all performed well. Hezi and KayAus combined for 4.5 blocks per game and Antoine shot 50% from three while performing well across the board.

WGS pushed its all-time record against Bucks Gaming to 6-3, including defeating Bucks Gaming 2-1 in the 2020 quarterfinals. Warriors Gaming Squad will have a bye in Week 2 before facing 2020 semifinal opponents Jazz Gaming in Week 3. The game of the week in Week 3 also belongs to WGS, who will face Wizards District Gaming in a rematch of the 2020 NBA 2K League Finals.
