Week 11 Preview: Warriors Gaming Squad Concludes Regular Season with Three-Game Slate

The final week of the regular is here, at least for Warriors Gaming Squad. With three games on tap in week 11, WGS will conclude its 2020 regular-season campaign before sitting out the season’s final week with a bye. Playoffs are on the line in week 11, as Warriors Gaming Squad (10-3) can clinch a berth with a win in any game or even with losses by a combination of several other teams.

Make-up Date with T-Wolves Gaming

Warriors Gaming Squad was originally slated to play T-Wolves Gaming in week nine, but the series was pushed back to Tuesday, July, 28 at 7 p.m. PST. The T-Wolves (6-5) are in the thick of the playoff race with five games to go in 2020, just months from winning the 2019 NBA 2K League Finals. T-Wolves Gaming eliminated WGS in the 2019 semifinals, so there’s no lack of motivation for WGS—motivation only heightened by the fact that a win would clinch a second-straight playoff berth for Warriors Gaming Squad. Finals MVP BearDaBeast is back at point guard for T-Wolves Gaming, who gave Raptors Uprising GC, the eventual tournament winners, a run for their money in a tight quarterfinals series at THE TURN.

Facing Fab

Thursday, July 30 (6 p.m.) brings a date with league-leading scorer Fab and Celtics Crossover Gaming (1-11). While the CLTX, one of the league’s best tournament teams and a fellow 2019 semifinalist, haven’t had the best of seasons, Fab and co. remain a dangerous team night in and night out. The 2018 No. 2 pick is averaging 34.4 points and 7.1 assists per game, and the team has looked better in recent weeks since moving into a more permanent facility in Boston. Like Warriors Gaming Squad, Celtics Crossover is composed of only veterans, with two three-year veterans and four second-year players on the roster.

THE TIPOFF Test, 2.0

Warriors Gaming Squad’s third and final game of the week, on Friday, July 31 (6 p.m.), is a rematch from THE TIPOFF Tournament against Grizz Gaming (7-7). In the thick of the playoff race, the series will also be Grizz Gaming’s final series of the regular season. WGS and Grizz Gaming met in the group stage of the THE TIPOFF earlier this season, with the two teams splitting the series game apiece before Grizz Gaming advanced to the quarterfinals by sweeping Pacers Gaming. Point guard Vandi has upped his play for the Grizz, averaging 31 points and 8 assists per contest as the Grizz have gone 7-3 after starting the season 0-4.

Warriors Gaming Squad has already recorded its franchise high in regular season wins, but adding two more could see the team finish with more regular-season wins than in 2018 and 2019 combined. WGS also looks likely to clinch a playoff berth for the second consecutive season, a streak which may be matched by a few as two other teams.

All week 11 best-of-three series will be live on ESPN.com and the ESPN App, as well as the NBA 2K League’s Twitch and YouTube channels.
