WGS Headed to Park in NBA 2K League Three for All Showdown

There’s a sense of excitement permeating the NBA 2K League.

Despite the postponement of the start of the NBA 2K League season due to the COVID-19 outbreak, the league’s Three for All Showdown, conducted in NBA 2K20’s Park mode, has nimbly stepped up to fill the gap. Numerous big names from across the sports landscape are playing in the tournament: Washington Redskins running back Derrius Guice, WNBA all-star Chelsea Gray, and former NBA player and Dunk Contest champion Nate Robinson are among the celebrities and influencers in the fold. Former NBA 2K League players, top female gamers, and NBA G League players, including Isaiah Reese of the Santa Cruz Warriors, are also competing in the tournament. The tournament is aimed at providing NBA 2K League fans and the 2K community with an exciting and fun way to engage while practicing social distancing.

After a hotly contested fan bracket, Warriors Gaming Squad is gearing up for the main tournament brackets with a 3v3 squad on each console. Beyond the stars competing on the same stage, $9,000 available in prize money for NBA 2K League teams ($3,500 and $1,000, respectively, awarded to the two furthest‑advancing teams on each console) makes staying home to watch WGS really worth not going out to the park.

XBOX: CB13, Gradient, Slaughter

The Xbox team, randomly assigned the 26th seed and placed in the Y bracket, goes up against Jazz Gaming—Compete, Lotty, Ria—in the first round. There’s already some history behind this matchup: Slaughter played for Jazz Gaming in 2018 before being drafted by Warriors Gaming Squad in 2020. The matchup is also a battle of first-round picks, as all six players in the matchup were first-round selections. Each team has two former top-ten picks in play: 2019 draftees CB13 and Gradient will suit up for WGS, while 2018 top-three selection Compete and 2019 first-overall pick Ria will take the court for Jazz Gaming.

PS4: Bsmoove, Jin, Matty

It’s a play-in game for the PS4 squad, seeded 23rd and placed in the triangle region, against fan team Flip the Script, which features competitive NBA 2K veterans FantaSZN, Mike_Swann2k, and oSnagaholic. This WGS team boasts experience alongside skill: the three players combine for the second-most years of league experience among all 42 teams in the PS4 bracket. There’s a top pick standing between WGS and the title on this side: Mavs Gaming, led by 2018 top pick Dimez, awaits the victor in round two (and don’t forget about 2019 fifth overall pick PeteBeBallin or 2020 selection Sleetys playing alongside him).

The PS4 team will play first on March 31, at 6 p.m. PST in a matchup streamed by Jin, with a win setting up a date with Mavs Gaming at 7 p.m. PST. WGS action doesn’t stop then, as the Xbox squad plays at 8 p.m. PST, live on Slaughter’s channel.

The second stage of the NBA 2K League Three for All Showdown will take place from March 31 to April 3, with a total prize pool of $25,000 on the line. All series aside from the final rounds of each bracket will be best-of-three game series with the final round matchups being best-of-five game series. Fans can watch more of the Three for All Tournament on the NBA 2K League’s Twitch and YouTube channels.
