Warriors Gaming Squad, Kaiser Permanente and The Athletes’ Corner Launch Swishes for Dishes Food Insecurity Initiative for 2022 Season

SAN FRANCISCO – Warriors Gaming Squad (WGS), Kaiser Permanente, and The Athletes’ Corner are teaming up to launch the Swishes for Dishes food insecurity initiative for the 2022 NBA 2K League season, it was announced today. With the help of Feeding America, 10 meals will be donated to the Food Bank of Contra Costa and Solano for each point WGS scores this season.

Swishes for Dishes was created by the Golden State Warriors, Kaiser Permanente and The Athletes’ Corner in December 2020 in response to the increase in food insecurity during the height of the COVID-19 pandemic. The program has since expanded to include the Santa Cruz Warriors, the NBA G League affiliate of the Warriors. Since the launch of Swishes for Dishes in December 2020, over 1.8 million meals have been donated to Bay Area food banks.

Earlier this month, Warriors Gaming Squad players volunteered their time at the Food Bank of Contra Costa and Solano by distributing grocery items to community members. For video of the team volunteering, CLICK HERE.

Warriors Gaming Squad tips off their season tomorrow, April 5, against Kings Guard Gaming as part of THE TIPOFF Tournament. The 2022 Warriors Gaming Squad roster includes point guard Charlie “CB13” Bostwick, forward Austin “KayAus” Caterino, center Veron “Hezi” Coates, guard Antoine “Antoine” Featherstone, and forward Sam “Gradient” Salyers. Throughout the season, Warriors Gaming Squad’s games will be simulcast live on the NBA 2K League’s Twitch and YouTube channels.

Founded in 2018, Warriors Gaming Squad is the NBA 2K League affiliate of the Golden State Warriors. WGS earned their first-ever NBA 2K League Finals berth in 2020 and in 2019 became the first team in league history to win multiple tournaments in the same season.
